NATIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT NETWORK

The National Business Development Network (NBDN) is an association uniting business centers and business incubators that operate under the JOBS project in more than 90 communities across Bulgaria. The association designs and implements business support and employment generation strategies and projects.

The NBDN business centers offer opportunities for intensive exchange of information, market analysis, access to financing, training and active assistance to fledging businesses. The centers support local enterprises and entrepreneurial people. The priority business sectors for the association are tourism, handicrafts, herbs and spices, alternative agriculture, apparel and textiles, the wood and furniture industry. NBDN has created a commercial company, Business Network 2003 Ltd., which carries out various business activities.

The National Business Development Network assists Bulgarian and international investors in finding local business partners. The association builds cooperation and partnerships with the Bulgarian Government, the United Nations Development Programme, foreign embassies to Bulgaria and international programs for the implementation of large-scale projects.

The National Business Development Network has designed cluster development strategies in its priority sectors, thereby enabling efficient development and quality control in the successive stages of product design, production and marketing.

The NBDN's certified Vocational Training Center offers specialized vocational training for professional qualification, English language training (all levels), computer training licensed by Microsoft, etc.

Through the JOBS Project, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the United Nations Development Programme support the institutional development of the National Business Development Network. They finance the activities of the association for creating a functioning environment for the private sector in Bulgaria and supporting priority business sectors.
